What Does Experience Really Mean?
You hear the word all the time right - experience. Oooooh, experience. (For reference, you have to envision saying "Ooooo Mufasa" when you read that. So please go back and read again with that in mind, hahaha. )
Seriously though, we drop the word "experience" all the time. I'm pretty sure you've probably heard it from several other vendors while planning your wedding and event. I'd say it's probably pretty common to hear in general life terms too, right? So what does it really mean? What's all the fuss about? Well let me break it down into three parts for you.
Experience means...someone is prepared for anything. Great execution of anything doesn't come by winging it, it comes through preparation. When you go through that preparation again over and over and over again...it prepares that person for just about anything. You think Tom Brady hasn't seen almost every defensive scheme there is thrown at him? He's been watching tape for 20+ years, which means...he's prepared on gameday...and is certainly part of him being the G.O.A.T. (I’m originally from New England so this is a no-brainer to Northern-ahs, but c’mon - who’s better all-time?!)
Experience means...someone is adaptable. If you've doing something for long enough, you've likely "seen it all." Of course there will always be new things thrown at us. I mean heck, I had no idea what Tik Tok was in 2019, did you? But the fact is that when someone has done something for a long time, it's likely they've seen more than most, been through more than most...and if they're still doing it...then they learned how to adapt and execute. Experience better prepares people to adapt on the fly. "Oh, the skies just opened up and we have 30 minutes to move the entire ceremony inside, change the room, move equipment, rescan frequencies and blow-dry the groom's hair? We got you."
Experience means...you get a guide. Those early in their careers are more likely to take leadership from others or take a passive "I'm not 100% sure approach." Those with experience know what to focus on, what not to focus on, how and when to motivate you, how and when to calm you down, and how to balance leading AND listening. They'll be a guide. A guide to a better experience. A guide to a better event.
